Three Things to Remember

There are 3 important things you need to do to keep your SafeLink service active; but don’t worry, they are very easy and we will remind you if you forget.

Phone ‘on’

Keep your phone turned "ON" to ensure you stay enrolled in the program.

Failure to detect eligible usage will result in the termination of your service.

At least one call

This government sponsored program requires us to certify that you are using your benefits.

If you don’t use your phone at least once every 30 consecutive days, your benefit will be canceled.

Recertify every year

This program requires you to certify your eligibility every year in order to keep receiving your FREE Lifeline benefits.

The good news is it only takes a few minutes by phone/mail and seconds online; and don’t worry, we will remind you when it’s time to recertify.

SafeLink is required to verify that all customers are using their benefits. If you do not use your phone for at least 30 consecutive days your benefit will be cancelled. SafeLink service is supported by TracFone, America’s largest prepaid wireless company.

TEXT MESSAGING

Text messages are included in your SafeLink service. Whether you are at the movies or at a doctor’s appointment, now you can communicate with the world without saying a word.

Data usage

Some plans include data, if you want more you can always purchase additional data cards. Below are general guidelines for the amount of data per service:

  • 1 email (no attachment) 20KB
  • 1 email (with standard attachment) 300KB
  • 1 min. of streaming How-To-Video (standard) 4MB (240MB/hour)
  • 1 min. of streaming music 500KB (30MB/hour)
  • 1 hour surfing the Web 15MB
  • 1 app/song downloaded 4 MB
